Thank you for visiting The Hellenic Virtual Fighter Squadron. Hell Sqn is a group of North American Pilots of Hellenic descent who fly Nato aircraft in the Open Falcon and DCS/Lock On flight simulations. We fly all combat theaters, but naturally our preferred combat area is of course the Aegean/Balkans. We are Dedicated to fidelity and realism in our simulation experience.

The Hellenic Virtual Combat Squadron is a 'Tight' squadron. Flying is done in a serious and professional manner. We are a Full Switch Squadron, Track Ir and a Hotas are mandatory for full membership. We provide strong technical support to new vpilots and we are a meritocracy so that people rise on their ability and not their 'join date'.

If you are a mature vPilot age 21 or older, English speaker of Hellenic descent and strive for Excellence, Brotherhood and Fidelity in your simulation experience, we want to hear from you !!

Thank you again for taking the time to visit. Please feel free to sign our Guestbook

Hell Sqn Elections New Command Staff

S!
Congratulations to our new Commanding Officer Hell Sqn Xifos. He was elected with an overwhelming plurality of votes and we are sure that his tenure will be most productive. The hotly contested race for Executive Officer was decided in a very close result for Hell Sqn Viper. We are sure that these two excellent pilots will lead with the even temperament and honorable conduct we have come to associate with them with.

The Sqn as a whole would also like to thank Protos for his many contributions to helping us get off the ground and operational. Without his friendship and support we would not have been able to launch our site and servers. Final touches on the site still remains to be activated once all the graphics are submitted, but we are happy to report that all the database work has been completed. Our new Private TeamSpeak 3 Server is working flawlessly and the IVC integration program is under beta testing. Please see our Sqn forum sticky for details. Protos and 20mm have worked very hard on getting IVC comms replication as realistic as possible.

For more Hell Sqn news please check the private forums at least 3 times a week to keep up to date with Operations and Orders.

Ok for all of the people who constantly ask how to get Rapace Launcher working with the Nvidia Fix here is a small write up submitted to us by Protos. This fix DOES NOT require you to rename your exe as some other fixes do. To accomplish this you will need to download Nvidia Inspector which can be found here

1. Use the Nvidia Control Panel - Manage 3D Settings to create a profile for F4-BMS.exe (and/or F4-BMS.exe) and then save & quit.
2. Start Nvidia Inspector v1.92 in advance mode (press little screwdriver and wrench symbol beside Driver Version)
3. Select the f4-bms.exe profile from the drop down menu in the top left corner.
4. Select Scan Profiles for Unknown Settings and Values (little magnifying glass over gears symbol near top right)
5. Scroll down the sub-headings to Unknown - Find PRE_D3D9_COMPATIBILITY_BITS and go to the right of it and click - then select (King's Bounty, X2: Wolverine's Revenge, Independence War 2 - Edge of Chaos, Falcon 4.0 Allied Force, MS Flight Simulator X, Links 2003, Gothic 2, Gothic 1)
6. Apply the Profile with Nvidia Inspector.

** Note this does not fix the tacref and load-out screens. These will still corrupt with anti aliasing enabled. I have managed to get acmi working with this fix by clicking the screen with my mouse while dragging at which point the corruption disappears and tracks play perfectly. Also ingame comms are not working with Windows 7 so you will need to make other arrangements for that.

In my experience I get the same or better fps in Windows 7 vs Xp and definitely the image quality is far superior. As always your particular mileage may vary based on your hardware/setup.
Render time: 1.7620 sec, 0.3504 of that for queries.
